Yeah, I remember the bad old days. I'd wait for my tax refund, then order a huge pile of zines from the States (though at least Canada is closer than Australia) and then read them over and over until I could afford another huge pile the next year. (My first fandom was Blake's 7, and I've still got boxes of B7 zines in the basement.)
I think my moment for Eroica had passed by the time I finally laid hands on a copy, but I have to admit I lurv UFO. I'd watch it just for the set design and costumes, but I totally enjoy the stories, too.
I'm jealous of you growing up with Pros. It did apparently run on CBC in the early 80s, but only at midnight. Since I was in my first couple of years of high school at the time, there'd have been no way my mom would have let me stay up to see it, even if I'd known about it. (A friend who's two years older did stay up to watch it, and I'm jealous of her too. Not that she remembers much except Bodie boxing in the opening credits.)
As it stands, I've gotten used to blank looks when I mention my favourite show is Pros and one of my fave actors is Martin Shaw.
However, one of my kinks is always the one that wouldn't bottom who does.
Oh yeah, that's a good 'un. I'm also fond of having one of a pair top from the bottom. Doyle, for me, seems particularly good at it. *g*
BTW, your icon... phwooaar. I don't usually want to slash Sam and Gene, but that icon is delicious.
