In totally non-fannish news. My baseball team has actually made it to the finals of our league for the first time ever. In fact, it's the first time we've ever made it beyond the first round of the playoffs. (We're in the Toronto publishers league, so we get to play fun teams like Harlequin. Our opponents tonight were McGraw-Hill.)
After getting stomped in the first game of the semis last week, we needed to win by 12 points tonight. We managed to win by 14 (28-14) and a goodly proportion of those runs were scored in the final inning.
Every one on the team was totally on their game, myself included. After a season of making good hits that went right into the other team's gloves, I managed to find the gap in their defence every time I was at bat, and made it home every time I got on base. Plus, I made one spectacular pop fly catch in the outfield, and two important plays when I was at first.
'Course, this means we have to play three more games in the next week and a half, which means I'm going to have to rejig my already crazy schedule.
But still...very cool.
