Fun with Mandarin
Feb. 21st, 2007 09:50 pmHad our Mandarin class tonight. It's our third round, and we've got a teacher who's no longer babying us. She's not speaking a whole lot of English, which means we have to understand her questions in Mandarin, and then answer her back in Mandarin. It's tough, but I feel like I'm getting a wee bit better each week.
In the subway on the way home, the Sweetie and I realized we now know enough Mandarin to sing at least the first line of Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me" in Mandarin:
Wo yaò ni yaò wo.
Heh.
(Line 3 is Wo ai ni ai wo. Still haven't learned "need" so we can't do the second line.)
Too much fun.
In other news, I'm heading off to Escapade tomorrow morning. Very early tomorrow morning. Looking forward to seeing anyone from the flist there.
