Black Death Pic Spam
Aug. 20th, 2010 12:29 pmLast night was the second of my British genre films, Black Death, starring Eddie Redmayne and Sean Bean. Redmayne plays a young monk torn between the love of a woman and his calling. The monk volunteers to guide a group of soldiers sent by the bishop to investigate a village that has been spared from the plague and is suspected of pagan worship.
The Bean plays the head of the soldiers, of course. I'm sure any physical resemblance he might have in the film to Boromir is entirely intentional.

The film is much more accomplished than Centurion, if far less rollicking, and plays a lot with the moral ambiguity of all of the characters. Every single character does questionable things, and every single character has a reason for doing so, even if the reason isn't always a good one.
Here's the Bean, looking far more cheery than he does at any point in the film.

( This way to the Bean, brooding )
