One Busy Weekend
Jan. 16th, 2011 10:42 pmMy weekends are usually full, but this weekend seemed unusually jam-packed. And this just as we're gearing up for sign up for the Second Annual Pros Big Bang at
ci5_boxoftricks. (I do hope that all the Pros fen on my flist will consider signing up for the Big Bang. It was a lot of fun last time 'round. Apart from modding and maybe vidding, I may have a zombie sequel up my sleeve.)
Anyway, back to this weekend.
Yesterday I:
Helped Ros shop for a birthday present
With the Sweetie, took Ros to her first birthday party for a kindergarten friend
Dropped the Sweetie at a subway station so he could do a movie day
Took Ros tobogganing at our local park (This was glorious! The temperature was just below 0 Celsius, there wasn't much wind, and we got to watch the sun set over the house beside the park)
Took Ros skating at the nearest arena after dinner
Got Ros to bed and collapsed
Today I:
Did grocery shopping
Went to see the very last performance of the Toronto transfer of Stratford's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (The play's a favourite of mine, and it was a fine production.)
Went out to dinner with the friends I attended the play with
Got home to find the ceiling in Ros' bedroom had started leaking (It did this eleven years ago when we first moved into the house. Time to call the roofers in again.)
Finished my 2008 Income Tax forms. (Yes, that's 2008. I'm two years behind. I've promised the Sweetie I won't start writing a Big Bang story until I get caught up on the taxes, so I'm determined to get 2009 done by the end of the week.)
Ros is currently sleeping in our bed. We told her she can sleep on the futon we have for company while her ceiling is drying out. Which means we have to clear the space for the futon before we can go to bed ourselves. And I think that's going to have to be soon. I'm completely knackered, and my legs are definitely starting to complain about all the skating and running up tobogganing hills yesterday.
