That Was Actually Fun!
Feb. 27th, 2011 09:48 pmJust got back from moderating the film panel at my alma mater's Oscar night party. And it was a blast!
We had some great discussions about film in general and the nominees this year. The two professors weren't too stuffy, and the director was actually funny and modest and engaged. And everyone was complimentary about my leading of the discussion, which was nice. And it was all in front of about 150 alumni, so one of the bigger audiences I've spoken in front of.
It was fun to be talking about film again, and I'm glad that I said what the heck and accepted the gig.
The not-so-fun part of the day came at 4:00, when Ros started throwing up. Which wasn't fun, but the thing that most upset her was when we told her she couldn't go to the Oscar party. But she stayed home with the Sweetie, and apparently was very excited to watch the red carpet show. (She's definitely a budding fashionista.)
Now, I'm in my jammies, and settled in with the Sweetie to watch the PVRed Oscars.
