Soccer Night: Game Six
Jun. 26th, 2013 09:24 amI was hoping to post some more about the trip and concert last night, but it was not to be. After coaching the game and then getting Ros to sleep, I laid down "just for a minute." Two and a half hours later, Don found me out cold.
But I did make it through the game, and it was another fun one. It was threatening rain, but never managed more than a few drops, and the kids all put in another good effort. We were back to playing the first team we played. They're quite strong and beat us the first time, but this time we held them to a 4 - 4 draw, which was awesome. And more of the kids than just our strongest player are scoring goals and getting in there, so that's fab.
The worst part is that it was a 7:30 game, and that's really a bit late for this age group. (Ros was already tired since she'd had a late night with her dad the night before, and when she tripped and fell on her face in practice she took some major calming down.) Fortunately we only have a late game a third of the time on the schedule.
