Footie: Game Four
Jun. 10th, 2014 11:54 pmWorld Cup starts in a couple of days, and it was soccer night for us. And a lovely night it was. We're definitely, finally, and at long last into summer now, and it was an absolutely perfect night for a game: a bit muggy but not too hot, and no rain in sight.
We were a bit less dominant that we have been, but we managed to hold things together for a 3 - 2 win. We had two new volunteers again for goalkeeper, including one of our twins. They both did well, but each let in a goal. In both cases they were hard goals to stop. All three of our goals were from the same girl, who astoundingly hasn't played in a league until this year. She's definitely picked up on the game quickly. And Ros was as scrappy as ever and really got in there to stop the other team whenever possible.
Two of Ros' good friends from school were on the other team, and they occasionally came over to our side and took turns picking Ros up. (The curse of being one of the smallest kids in your grade. It's giving me flashbacks. I had friends who thought it was funny to pick me up as late as uni.)
