Well, That Went Okay
Aug. 4th, 2011 10:51 pmSo, I asked you all for an opinion on what to see, and then somehow managed to go to one of the films that no one voted for. Not that I wasn't tempted by Daniel Craig in chaps or the slash potential in Captain America. But convenience won out in the end, and Crazy Stupid Love was playing at the closest theatre and at the earliest time I could get to.
It's actually pretty good. (Though there was a draggy part in the middle where I found myself craving Daniel Craig in chaps, some aliens and a lot of explosions.) But it's a nicely constructed farce with some seriously funny scenes, and a surprisingly touching side. Plus, Emma Stone totally rocks. And Ryan Gosling plays a womanizing jerk who also manages to be weirdly sympathetic. Also, he has an astonishing six pack. (Never let it be said I fail to appreciate the shallow end of the pool.)
