The Good and the So-So

For those wondering, Ros' fever finally yesterday. She couldn't go back to school yet, so we spent a pretty awesome Mommy & Rozzy day hanging out. There was nail polish involved, as well as a visit to the Ontario Science Centre, which is her favourite museum. And on a weekday afternoon, there is absolutely no waiting for any of the exhibits, which is awesome.

In other news, I'm still otherwise feeling at loose ends and incapable of writing. Totally the effects of finishing the Big Bang story, of course. Which the Sweetie finally twigged to tonight.

Sweetie: I've noticed that you always get ennui when you finish a big story.
Me: Yeah. And I've known that for years. For about a day I think how productive I'm going to be and how much more I can write. And then I mope around for a week while my head sorts itself out.
Sweetie: Oh.

And we've only been living together for, oh, fourteen years. ;-)

Your sweetie is pretty smart. :) The feeling is not so strange. I haven't felt like doing a lot of writing since I finished my BB story. I'm pecking away at my novel but otherwise, I'm blah right now about writing fanfic. But I do have an S&H idea bubbling so that might very well be my next project. I think it takes a lot out of you to do a big project so you need a bit of time, is all.

It was a lovely day. Well, up until Ros decided she wasn't going to eat dinner and spent an hour fighting over taking a single bite, anyway. (Five is both lovely and difficult. And I've heard fifteen isn't so much fun either.)

I'm resting on something, that's for sure. ;-)

Post-writing ennui is annoying but no doubt unavoidable. In the meantime, Tumblr is providing much pcitures of pretty men amusement.

But yeah, I'm letting myself take at least a little bit of fallow time. Not that my muse is giving me a choice in the matter.
