I'm totally with you. And I'm also not a sitcom person, though I very occasionally find a not-too-sitcomy sitcom that I can get behind. Community was the last of those. There's a show that has good use of nerd humour. Even when they dealt with areas of fandom I only know through reputation, they did a fantastic job with it. (Their D&D episode was one of the greatest comedy episodes ever.)
