The play opens with the two of them sitting around a campsite, awkwardly not saying a word. You then flashback through their entire relationship, with the two of them offering commentary on what happened. At the end, you're back at the campsite, where they're making tentative steps toward reconciling a rift that opened between them when...a bear attacks and kills them both. Then you realize that at the start, they were already dead. The final scene is them sitting around the campsite again and you can tell they've reached a measure of peace with each other.
It may sound a bit odd, but it works. (Bears are used as a metaphor for fear throughout the play. Plus, bear attacks do occasionally happen to campers here.)
