Sportiness and Other News
Aug. 2nd, 2006 10:53 pmSo, the company baseball team I play on managed to clinch second place in our league tonight. (We're in the Toronto Publishers league.) And guess who drove in the winning run? Yes, that would be me!
It was especially sweet, because we were tied in the final inning with two outs and the opposing team deliberately walked the guy ahead of me thinking I would be an easy out. Adding insult to injury, I heard the catcher say to the pitcher "she'll bunt and we'll get the runner out at home." Apparently they haven't been paying attention, 'cause I hardly ever bunt and I'm generally a pretty strong hitter. I knocked it over the heads of all their fielders and easily drove in the runner on third. Go me!
In other news, our hardwood floors are in and look fabulous. They're a deep, chocolatey brown and look great with the extremely yellow front bedroom and the violet-y blue back bedroom. Now we just have to put all our stuff back on the second floor. Before my cousin arrives for a visit next Tuesday.
Also, I'm posting this from my newly upgraded machine. The new drives are in, Tiger and the latest version of Final Cut Express have been installed and so far everything is going swimmingly. (Knock on wood.) I'm just about to erase the safety copy of the old drive, which is less dramatic than it sounds since I'm keeping the old drives as they are just in case I ever need to grab data from 'em. Even without upgrading memory, which I'm going to do in a week or so, a lot of the apps seem a lot faster.
With luck, I'll be vidding again within the week.

Date: 2006-08-03 10:45 am (UTC)Oh, yeah! You totally rock! That had to be awesome. :-) You know, I get the same "whispers" when I play ball as well. You know me, I'm not a big person, either and the men naturally assume I'll play like crap. Umm, that would be no. :-) I've surprised the opposite team many, many times by knocking it well out into the outfield. You've got to love the looks on their faces! LOL!
And congrats on the new floor and the new machine. Can't wait to see what vids you whip up next!

Date: 2006-08-03 07:05 pm (UTC)You have to come over and see the floors. Maybe for our next Brit night. (I'm awaiting the date of our first play off game, not to mention seeing when Don gets Spamalot tix, before confirming a date.)

Date: 2006-08-07 12:29 am (UTC)BTW, I now have a Pros idea firmly percolating, but I have one question. Who would you rather see be protective towards the other: Bodie or Doyle? And that's all I'm gonna say. *g*
Two boxes? Oh my, what have you done?
