Well, I finally broke down and got an eBay account. And just won my first auction.

What can I say, I really regretted not making the effort to get hold of one of these posters when [livejournal.com profile] justacat, [livejournal.com profile] shayheyred and I were over for the play last year. And now it's mine, all mine!

I'm in such trouble.

I've been wanting to put up my theatre poster collection in our stairwell, and this will make a nice corner piece.

And yeah, eBay = EVOL!1111. But full of such pretty things.

Great poster.

If you're going to do this seriously and efficiently, you need a sniper program.

Trust me.

Cool.

Not that I plan on doing this very often. I hope.

I second the motion - Definitely use auctionsniper... The stress of the COUNTDOWN nearly killed me before I found it.

I can't *believe* you've gone all this time and never used eBay!

I've been making a concerted effort not to accumulate too much stuff, and hence deliberately avoiding eBay. Looks like those days are over.

I shall definitely use auctionsniper for my next attempt.

ooh, nice poster! And, yeah, you're in trouble all right. There's always lots of Pros stuff. But wait until you start selling things!

Selling things? Noooo.

Wouldn't mind acquiring a few more Pros goodies, though.

Yup. Must agree. You are definitely in trouble.

On the other hand, what a way to go!

Just wait until you set up daily emails to tell you about specific favorite searches you want to get news on. And updates from your favorite sellers.

Memo to self: remember to get a life.

I totally blame you. It's all your fault I've been doing eBay searches on "Martin Shaw" and "The Professionals." Not to mention "Lewis Collins." (You can blame me for Pros, I can blame your for eBay. *g*)

You can get emails on your searches? And updates from sellers? Crap, I'm doomed. (So, who are your favourite sellers?)

When you do a search (e.g., "Professionals poster") and it spits out results, there is a link over on the right hand side of the page that says something like "Add to favorite searches". Click that, and it will let you name the search and save it for a period of time (up to a year). Their computer runs a search on every favorite search you list and emails you the results once a day, if there's something new in your search result. Be sure to set it to "new listing" otherwise the default is "ending soon".

Favorite sellers: 45Doyle, valariats, bobacarol, laconstans, bdc-hbk, bandit2142, tallon2003. When you go see someone's listings, there is a link that says "add this person as a favorite seller." If you do that, it will again set up an email system to let you know if something new is listed by that person, but not daily--those are shipped weekly, which sometimes can be too late if they run a short sale. Then under "My eBay" on the lefthand side, there is something called "All Favorites"--you'll see your saved favorite searches and sellers listed there.

Be aware that some people list things under the incorrect category. I see posters, magazines, books and mugs come up in the DVD category on a regular basis, since people think, "Oh, Pros is a tv show, and it's on DVD, that must be where I put this listing." So you may think you don't ever need to search the DVD category, but don't be so sure.

I accept responsibility. But not for your checkbook!

Cool, but way too rich for my blood. Fortunately.

(I scored the MfaS poster for five pounds. Shhh, don't tell anyone.)

Is that the reason Doyle ends up buying most of their rounds?

From: [identity profile] przed.livejournal.com
Makes up for Doyle making him carry the baggage.

(But does Doyle really buy most of the rounds? 'Cause Doyle's always the one carping about money.)

From: [identity profile] faramir-boromir.livejournal.com
See, I figured Doyle carped about money because Bodie was having him spend it all the time! *g*
