10 Fictional Characters Meme

ancastar posted an illustrated version, I couldn't resist. So here is my 10 Fictional Characters I Wouldn't Kick Out of Bed list:
1. Ray Doyle. As if there was ever any doubt he'd make the top of my list. Scrappy, scruffy, good with a gun and absolutely gorgeous.

2. Boromir. He's tragic, doomed, scruffy and has a big sword. And played by Sean Bean. What's not to like.

3. Richard Sharpe. If Bernard Cornwell had set out to write the perfect character for me, Pauline Zed, he could not have done a better job. (Highly competent, scruffy, problem with authority, extremely loyal and, oh yeah, has a big sword. Yes, please!) Not to mention here's that Bean fellow again.

4. Spock. The intelligent, aloof outsider. Always a favourite archetype of mine. And quite possibly my very first crush.

5. Vila Restal. He might be cowardly, alcoholic and venal, but he's also brave, loyal and extremely competent. Vila's a mass of contradictions that I cannot resist.

(I toyed with including my other Blake's 7 fave, Kerr Avon, but as I always told my grad school pals, I want to be Avon, I don't want to do Avon. Still, here's a pic, just because.

6. Illya Kuryakin. In the mold of Spock, intelligent and slightly aloof. Also, highly sarcastic, which I can totally appreciate.

7. Athos. Smart, cynical and extremely good with a sword.

8. Rawhide. Buckaroo Banzai's second in command and the archetypal laconic cowboy. I've followed Clancy Brown's career ever since.

9. Teyla Emmagan. Because none of these lists is complete without a girl crush, and Teyla would be mine. Seriously, just look at her.

10. Diego Alatriste. Competent? Check. Scruffy? Check. Has own sword and knows what to do with it? Check. Loyal? Absolutely. And as a bonus, played by the always delicious Viggo Mortensen.
