Some Good News

Well, we're back from up north. The funeral went as well as such things can. I managed to make it all the way through the eulogy without breaking down. Friends, family and neighbours have rallied 'round my mom. And I stayed up for the week to help mom with all the paperwork that invariably follows a death, which also gave me the opportunity to talk to my mom and celebrate dad's life some more.
Now that the immediate grief has subsided, I feel a bit more like announcing some recent good news that came my way. While we were away, I heard from the editor of the anthology I'd submitted to, and she's accepted my story. I have made my first professional fiction sale. I'm determined to write and submit more, now, and hoping I can strike lucky more than this once.
The anthology is Lace and Blade 2, which will be coming out next February. I'll provide more details as the publication date gets closer.

Date: 2008-08-19 02:47 pm (UTC)The first volume of the anthology was a lot of fun. (And it had Tanith freaking Lee in it. Yikes.) I can't wait to see who else is in this volume, even if I'm feeling totally overclassed.
