Oh P, you're here! Do you remember me? It's okay if you don't:) But I was big into S&H fandom (still love the show, naturally) and we talked about a vid of yours. And maybe I sent you an ASJ dvd (I'm honestly not sure if that was you or someone else)?

I fell into SPN gradually. It was like an itch - I *should* love the show, being what it is, but I was a slow sinker. Now I'm totally enamoured, and the fiction is completely amazing! Also the fandom is very supportive of fandom works and at times the wank is quite INSANE.

But really all I wanted to say is WELCOME:)

Of course I remember you! And yes, that was me you sent the ASJ DVDs to. I hope I thanked you properly, and if not, thank you! (I've only had time to skim through an episode or two. Raising a toddler being what it is.)

I think it's the wank that's kept me out of SPN. That and the having no time thing, and the not doing incest (oh, okay, unless it's Boromir/Faramir) or RPS (yeah, that would be unless it's VigBean) thing, and the not doing an active show fandom thing. But Castiel seems to have been the extra little bit of something the show needed to suck me in.

I doubt I'll be super active in the fandom (back to that having no time thing) but the vids are calling to me. And hey, if you know any good Castiel/Dean fic, I'd love to hear about it.

You know what, this is my 2nd active show fandom and I think I see what you're talking about. What if the show gets cancelled before it has a proper ending? And the wank that goes with people not knowing where it's going next, and them (and me) not liking some of the possibilities of what goes on with their favorites - I'd never even thought about it until it was too late. And here it is, too late:)

Re: the incest, it seems I have no problem with it in the fanfic - my brain readily disengages it from reality with no real effort on my part. It almost seems another trope to me to ring angst out of their situation (and I totally don't mean to lessen the actual impact/damage of incest in real life by saying that, honest - I'm talking about it as being one of those controversial places fandom goes to, and that we as fans and individuals figure we can or cannot go to - if that makes sense). Though I notice I have some trouble disengaging from it in fanfic where one person is significantly older than the other. But anyway...

One of my best friends reads Dean/Castiel, but she said she hasn't found any that she's totally in love with yet. Will definitely let you know if she finds some she loves.

I'm not very active in fandom, either, but I enjoy reading and staying on the outskirts of it. I have two kids, girls age 8 and 11, and I know how it goes.
