Go Badgers!

Much to my surprise, and after they slumped badly in the mid-section of the game, the Badgers triumphed over Florida State University. As a bonus, it was an awesome game, with Wisconsin and FSU trading the lead back and forth at the end and going into a tense overtime that came down to the last shot.

This is why I watch basketball.

As an added bonus, the Siena/Ohio State game going on at the same time was even more tense and amazing. Siena saved themselves not once, but twice with buzzer beating 3 point shots, then finally won in the second overtime. Too much fun.

So the Badgers are up again on Sunday afternoon, against Xavier. Here's hoping the game is half as much fun.

Whoa, seriously? They won? Wow. Go alma mater! I helped someone make his selection earlier this week for the pool at work. Heh. So much for that pick...

Yep, they won. I'd just sort of started drifting off since a) it was late (for me) and b) they were getting killed when I noticed they weren't getting killed anymore. Twas an awesome game.

So you went to UW-Madison as well? If I knew that at some point, baby brain has long since knocked it out of my head.

I grew up in Madison, went away for the first part of college and then transferred back. Then went there for grad school as well. I think we determined I'd left the U (1988) before you arrived, although I was in Madison on and off until 1993.

Of course the whole time I was growing up, and when I was actually going to UW, they were bad at just about all sports except hockey.

I was only there 1991 to 1993, so we overlapped on living in Madison, but not being at the uni.

I think the basketball team was starting to pick up when I was there. Can't remember about the hockey team. (I'm a bad Canadian. I can't stand hockey.)
