Odds and Sods
Jun. 24th, 2009 11:11 pmIt's been a crazy week. I started it off by accidentally cracking my head on a doorframe Sunday. (As if one would do that on purpose.) I didn't lose consciousness, thankfully, but I was dizzy and nauseous for the better part of 24 hours. I used up a sick day on Monday, and slept far too much and watched episodes of Merlin (which, if not the Best Show Ever, is certainly fun crack) and Wallander (nice to see Branagh acting again).
I had to upgrade my work laptop to Office 2007, on account of me training it in three days! (No, I'm not panicking. Honest.) And of course that bollocksed up the Word doc of my Pros novel that I've been using to produce a PDF for the zine. Spent most of today sorting out headers and footers and styles and cursing Microsoft programmers. (Shhh, don't tell my boss. And anyway, it ended up being a great test case for me learning how the bloody new interface works.)
I've been in touch with the print shop that will be printing the zine. I'm just waiting for a few technical details and a quote. This, at least is exciting. (I'm just trying to figure out how many copies to have done. Expect a poll soon.)
And finally, I had a friend at work take a new picture of me that I can use on company websites and in Webex training, on account of the fact that I hate the official pic of me. And shockingly, it didn't turn out too badly. ( Look at this: )
