After making absolutely no progress yesterday (I was exhausted after a lovely Father's day spent on the Toronto Islands, taking Ros to the Centreville amusement park were she could assert her daredevil tendencies) I actually manage to break 8,000 words today.

Two thousand more words, and I'm good for the BB requirements. Though whether that means I'll finish the whole piece in time is still anyone's guess.

Getting the last 2,000 words isn't going to be a problem. It's the way-too-many-thousands-of-words that I'll need to finish this story that I'm worried about.

Mind you, I'm not going to be anywhere near the length you hit, so I should just stop complaining, right? *g*

I think you're at or near the size of my Pros novel. And that took me 8 years to write. 8 years!

You're fab. And I think I kind of hate you. (Okay, not really. *g*)

Don't be jealous. I'm not done, I'm exhausted and my deadline is three and a half weeks away.

I'll make it, but there's some tough writing yet to go.

:-)

The exhaustion thing is the hard part. I hit a wall last night. I actually fell asleep while typing. How annoying is that.

But on the positive side, the words are coming.

Hope you manage to hit that deadline, without hitting a wall, or anything else.

Thanks, hon.

Right now, I'd be happy if we'd just get a break in the heat. It's been 90+ here for over a week and I don't have air. My den is like an oven (no lie--at 11:30 it's probably 85 degrees in here). It's sapping my will to live. Never mind my creativity.

How did you make it through the quake?

That heat sounds like a big pile of no fun. I don't do heat well. I'm happiest when it's a steady 20 C.

I nearly missed the quake! I had my earbuds in and was working on my training database. The guys I work with were yelling at me that there was an earthquake. (In my defence, we're in the basement and it barely registered down there. Don, on the other hand, is on the third floor of an old warehouse building with hardwood floors. He said it actually bounced his chair around.
