Centurion and Michael Fassbender Pic Spam
Aug. 18th, 2010 11:30 pmThe annual Toronto After Dark film fest is on at the moment, which means plenty of genre film from around the world. Tonight they showed a movie I've been dying to see ever since the Sweetie sent me a link to the trailer, lo, these many months ago: Centurion.

Michael Fassbender stars as a member of the 9th Roman Legion that disappeared whilst fighting the Picts. Let us pause for a moment to admire Fassbender looking all bloody and angsty. (Is it wrong that I find guys who've had the snot kicked out of them kind of hot?)

The film was almost everything I'd hoped for (though the fights could have been better shot). And a large part of the attraction is Fassbender's...performance. (What? He's a really good actor. Really!)
Here he is bound, shirtless, and being chased down by Pict warriors. Mmmm, shirtless.

I've been growing rather fond of Fassbender of late. He was one of the best things in Inglourious Basterds

He clearly broods nicely.

He's nicely photogenic whilst portraying angst.

And he can be a bit of a mad, scruffy bastard.

Clearly, he's just my type.
Tomorrow, I'm back at the fest for a screening of Black Death, with one of my all-time faves, the Bean.
