Was it fab to see all the movies together in a theatre? Yes. Most definitely yes.

Was RotK the best movie ever? Um, no. That honour is still reserved for Lawrence of Arabia in my little corner of the universe. It is, however good. Very, very good. And parts of it are great. And I'm sure I'll like it even better when the Houses of Healing scenes are restored.

Am I going to see it again? Of course! Tonight in fact, necessitated by the fact that today is my birthday and I just had to see it on my birthday. (Very pleased that my S.O. got me the LotR version of Risk for said birthday, even if am also disappointed that Gondor is not one of the territories on the board.)

Any other revelations? Billy Boyd has a truly wonderful singing voice. Viggo Mortensen, well, doesn't. (I love him to pieces, and his voice isn't awful, but really, if he never sang again on screen, I'd be a happy woman.) Oh, and the Hidilgo trailer, which I finally got to see in a theatre, looks like too much fun.

Happy Birthday. I already posted Birthday wishes in my journal for you.

You saw all three last night?

I thought that was happening all day today.

So what did you get for your B-day besides a fabulous "To Live and Die in L.A." DVD?

Yes, Trilogy Tuesday was indeed yesterday, it being Tuesday and all.

Apart from To Live and Die in L.A., which some fabulous person gave me, and the LotR Risk game, Don gave me two tiny pewter knights with swords that will be taking prominent position on my desk. Don's mom gave me a copy of Whale Rider, so I can watch and weep in the comfort of my own home.

D'oh, I should have known someone would give you the LoTR Risk game.

Is it the Middle Earth or Triliogy edition? Should I dig out my gift receipt for Christmas?

Would a LoTR Monopoly game be of any interest?

HAppy Happy!

D'oh. You guys clearly need to coordinate. And I think it's the Trilogy edition, though I'll have to check.

LotR Monopoly might be cool. And Don said he found another LotR game that looked really nifty, though you'll have to ask him what it was.

Clearly, it's time for a games day at our place.

I've been asking him for a list for you since Dec 1.

Still nothing.

I'll email him now.

Well, him not giving you a list is partly my fault, since I didn't give him one until a week ago or so, but he has it now.

And as I'm sure he told you, the edition he got was *not* the Trilogy edition. (No Gondor or Mordor, alas.)

Happy Birthday!!!

I've never seen Lawrence of Arabia. I did love Whale Rider. When's games night?

You have to see Lawrence. (It's a requirement of knowing me.)

And I'll keep you posted on the games day. It will definitely not be till after the holidays.
