The [livejournal.com profile] picfor1000 prompts went up today.

And I am screwed.

Apart from crack!fic, anyone have any bright ideas for that one? (And I thought last year's prompt was bad.)

Oh, jeezus, you're right. What are you trying to do? Drive me right into the arms of those SPN people?!!!

Well no, but I'm capable of putting fannish self-interest to one side for the sake of a mate ♥ and even given how little of SPN I've actually seen the bloke in that picture *really* does look like he belongs in that 'verse.

Given that I've got three Cas icons, maybe I should try and write a story for the damn show. Hmmm.

Right then, this'll just be me hiding from the rest of the Pros fans. I hope the story turns out well. :D

I promise not to rat you out. Unless they threaten me with, you know, sarcasm.

Well that's highly unlikely to happen. Ahem...

You know, that's a great idea, and I don't even read SPN other than a drabble or two about Cas. Hmmmm.... It could work. I admit, I could see him dressed like this for some odd reason. He's trying it out since he's been watching Larry the Cable guy or some other creepy thing! LOL!

I more see Cas running into a bloke wearing this than actually wearing it himself. (He's only going to be wearing the awesome trench coat on my watch. That or, you know, nothing. *g*)

No argument from me unfortunately. Especially as I'm the person who got inexplicably peer-pressured (for that read, 'exposed in tantalising manner to about 300000000 gorgeous pictures of Misha Collins and Jensen Ackles on Tumblr and Twitter') into ordering the first series on DVD. It's on the way now. You can blame thank [livejournal.com profile] kimboosan and [livejournal.com profile] candesgirl. *sigh*

I'm not a fan of the show, I gave up about half way in to the first season, which is why it's funny that I suggested this to Zed. Also, I don't think Misha Collins' character turns up until you're several seasons in... that's the impression I get at least from the reaction of a lot of Sam/Dean fans to there suddenly being a surge in Dean/Cas.

Yeah, Misha pops up in series 4 I think, but you can't just start watching from there, so I thought I'd give it a go from the beginning. I don't know if I'll like it, and hells bells - that's some catching up to do, but I thought I'd have a looksee what all the fuss was about. Curious fangirl is curious. *g*

Most of the people I know love it so there's a very good chance that you will too. You're way ahead of me anyway in that I'm sure the fact that I don't fancy any of them doesn't help either. :D

... Also, this is apparently your opportunity to add another... cushion to your seat in the handbasket.

I do massively fancy Misha Collins, so I'm right there with that one. I guess I'm just a bit terrified of the fandom - it seems so huge and apparently batshit insane. But I've been assured that you don't have to get involved in the fandom totally to appreciate the show and enjoy the squee, so we'll see...

Both Callisto and An write SPN fic and I'm sure would have some good input for you on calmer corners of the fandom. I think Callisto also does recs. They both write Sam/Dean and J2 though... unless that turns out to be your thing after watching.

Mikey still runs a small SPN site I think and writes Dean/Cas.

In other words I think there are lovely people about who could point you to the nice playground with the great monkey bars if you get hooked. :D

It's the curiosity that's the problem, isn't it?

I held out against the SPN tide for two years, then decided to give the season 2 finale a shot, just to see if it was any good. And was sucked right into the darn show. (I accidentally sucked the Sweetie right along with me when he happened to be in the living room when I was watching a re-run of another season 2 ep. What?! It wasn't my fault. I warned him what I was doing!)

Much as I love the show, I've avoided the fandom on the grounds of its sheer immensity and possible craziness. Plus the incest/RPS factor. (I've already done both in LotR; I didn't want to go to bump myself to an even lower level of hell.) But Castiel and Misha have got me thinking seriously slashy thoughts about the show. (Cas is a one of those characters who hits me in a perfect spot and makes me lurvvvvv them.)

All of which is a long way of saying: me too!
