Well, That's Interesting
Feb. 15th, 2011 09:51 pmI got an email and follow up phone call from my alma mater today.
Seems they're doing a Oscar Party/Broadcast as part of their 175th anniversary. It's a fundraising kind of thing in their 500 seat theatre.
They want me to moderate a film panel as part of the festivities.
Given it's less than two weeks before the big event, and I'm no longer either a film academic or in the film industry, I'm betting they tried for some bigger guns and couldn't get them, and I'm the hail Mary desperation pass. But it's still kinda cool.
So, whaddaya think flist? Should I do it?

Date: 2011-02-16 03:07 am (UTC)You're being asked to moderate a film panel. That means you do a little reading up/watching IF it's something you're not familiar with and other than that you use your intelligence, wit and knowledge of film while watching the films, listening to the panel speak, controlling the Q & A and timing the thing. I don't think there's anything to be insecure about. ♥
So fun=dooooooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Depending on their level of authority/entitlement, it could be...interesting. Then again, I'm dying to throw a few gender questions in there, just to stir the pot.
