Here's the monster trope bingo story. I can honestly say I've never written anything quite like it.
The Other Side (20210 words) by PR Zed
Fandom: Take That
Pairings: Mark/Robbie, and a hint of Howard/Jason
Summary: It would never have happened if Mark hadn't gone to Nigel's party that Friday night.
Notes: Written for the
trope_bingo challenge. Trope used: genderswap. Thanks, as always, to
soundofthesurf for being my lovely first reader, m. butterfly for her usual impeccable edit, and
halotolerant for helping make it a better story.
Three stories to go and I'll have a line for bingo. Unfortunately (or fortunately, I suppose, depending on whether you're the reader or the writer) at least one of those stories looks to be another massive, plot-heavy one. I think there will be writing of fun, short smut before I tackle that one.

Date: 2013-03-05 10:39 pm (UTC)Loved Mark being brave and asking Rob out, the attraction between the two, then Rob being so sweet. My favourite was the part Rob and Mark were locked up in that room and Rob jumped Mark even though he'd been turned back into a boy, that was just so beautiful and touching. Also loved how level-headed Tracy was about the whole thing and supported Mark the way she did. Poor Jason, surely he doesn't need a genderswap for Howard to want him?! ;) I'll stop babbling now, but what a massive treat, thank you!
And more treats to look forward to! ...another massive, plot-heavy one. Definitely very fortunate reader-wise, hope writing it won't cause you too much pain ;)

Date: 2013-03-06 12:25 am (UTC)Howard's first question was definitely me channeling Howard's twitter persona. The big goof. Getting the right balance on the attraction between Mark and Rob was tricky, but I did think it might have worked. And I have to say, I was rather pleased with how Tracy came out. She was definitely fun to write, keeping her supportive, but still capable of being irritated with her big brother.
Jason just needs a bit of courage. And he might end up getting it. *g* (I'm not promising anything, but there's always the possibility of a sequel.)
I'm not sure how much I'll be writing in the next few weeks (we leave for the big trip on Saturday) but I'm definitely going to be poking away at the next few stories. Especially the big one. (I hope it'll be fun to write, but I suspect it's going to take a bit of time.)

Date: 2013-03-06 09:08 pm (UTC)Is it this Saturday already? Time flies. Good luck with the 0-30 Celsius packing and I can imagine you'll have even better things to do in China than writing. (Like visiting way too cute baby-panda's.) So I'll patiently look forward to the next stories and hopefully to big trip-pics ;)
