Groovy news indeed! If all couriers do what they should it hopefully won't take too long to arrive, so you can start practicing the lyrics ;) Can't wait for my box either, but we ordered a second CD from a Dutch online shop and received it last Thursday already, the perfect mailbox to come home to! Unsurprisingly, the album's totally awesome!

Only two more weeks, that's even better news. Double yay!!

I'm not going to count on getting it early, but it would be nice. But I also left my iTunes pre-order intact, so I'll have an electronic copy on Monday at least. Must have those lyrics learned for the concert!

See you in two weeks!!!

I totally couldn't wait for my copy so I caved and got up 15 min early on Friday so I could download the album on iTunes before work and take it withe me, lol. I guess you could see that I actually did 'The Art of Doing Nothing' all day then ;)

I got the download notice from iTunes UK last night, so I've been listening to it all morning. I'm definitely loving it!

My copy of the deluxe box is also on its way, but like everybody else here I couldn't wait for it so I've also downloaded the album from iTunes :) But haven't had the chance to listen to it properly yet as I came home from Sheffield late last night, and had to get up early today for work.

Yes, Sheffield! It was amazing and brilliant and fun :) You are so lucky to still have your show to look forward to! You will have a great time. I'm so happy that I had the chance to go, and it was so worth the travel. The time went too quick and the show felt way too short! I won't give away any details about the setlist in case you don't want any spoilers ;)

The venue in Sheffield was very small and it was so good to see Mark in such a small venue because you got so close to the stage, and Mark ;) I have a bit of a bad back so I didn't que too long before the doors opened, maybe about two hours, but I was lucky and managed to get quite a good spot at about third/fourth row and luckily not too tall people in front of me (it was all standing at this venue). Mark was really sweet and he seemed genuinely surprised and happy that the venue was so full of people and that everyone sang along to most songs, even the new ones :)

It was a great evening, a great atmosphere, and I'm very happy to finally have seen Mark solo live. I just wish I could go again! :D

I've been mulling this over, because as I've been listening to the album, it seems like my favourite is whatever I'm listening to at the moment. There's not a bad track in the bunch. (Well, okay, I'm not so fond of The Lamb, but it's not a matter of not liking it so much as not liking it as much as everything else.) But if I had to pick the tracks that are bubbling up for me, they'd probably be Giveaway, Heaven's Falling, End of Everything, and Animals. And Stars, of course.

How about you?

I'm so glad to hear you had a great time. And managed a good spot in the venue. And that Mark was very sweet. (He wouldn't be anything else, would he? Bless 'im.) I wasn't intending to look at the setlist, but scrolled past it on Tumblr and took a look. I was hoping for a few more of his older solo songs (Pieces of Heaven would have made my day, but I knew it was a long shot) but it looks like a great set.

We're hoping not to have to queue too long, but given I'm short enough to make Mark look tall, I'm going to try to be relatively close to the stage. But seeing him in a small venue is going to be brilliant! (I saw Robbie in a small venue in Toronto in '99, and it's a big part of the reason I'm not so keen on seeing him in a big stadium tour. There's no way to improve on that experience.)

You'll have to le me know what your favourite songs are on the new album, once you've had a chance to give it a listen or three.

I know what you mean - I really love the album as a whole and I'm sure after hearing some of it live, I'll change my mind again about favourites ;)

Right now I think my favourites are The One (I'm actually deeply in love with that song), Carnival, End of Everything and The Lamb - the last one actually touches me so much, made me cry the first time I listened to it ♥

The opening of Carnival gives me chills. And I've got a feeling The Lamb will grow on me. It has the feeling of a song that will slowly get under my skin.

Yeah, I was very lucky because there were many people ahead of me in the queue, but it worked out just fine. Of course Mark wouldn't be anything but sweet :) About the setlist, I would have liked if he had put in some more solo songs instead of the TT songs. Shine and Hold Up A Light are fine, but if I could choose I would have preferred only his solo stuff ;) I would have loved him to do Come On and Close To The Edge, for instance. But I'm not going to moan, it *was* a great set ;) I took some pics and a few of them are not too bad. I will try to upload them later.

It was such a long time ago since I last went to a show in a small venue like this, and it really was brilliant and so different from a big arena or stadium.

Well, after having listened just a couple of times to the album I think that my favourites, besides Stars, are Giveaway, Heaven's Falling (this one was sooo good live!), Animals, Ghost. But I also really like Carnival and The Lamb. Too difficult to choose just a few songs :D

I'm very much going for the solo material, but since I was fearing there would be far more TT songs in the mix, I can certainly handle Shine and Hold Up a Light. And I'm rather looking forward to his take on The Flood.

I'm more used to small club shows these days, so going to a TT stadium is going to be a big shock to the system. But something I'm definitely looking forward to.

My favourites on the album continue to evolve. The Raven and Us and Ours are now right up there. And Ghost. But we're really just spoiled for choice on the album.

Carnival is amazing!!!

And OMG, I'm so jealous you still get to see Mark, I just wanna go again! He was sooo good, best night ever! I felt so proud because he looked so happy and he was rocking the place so much :D Emma and the kids (Elwood and Willow) were there as well and we ended up standing right above Howard (as in "could have reached out and stroked his hair") - perfect night ♥

Wow, you got the whole TT family experience! That's amazing! (I'm a bit jealous about you being close enough to have stroked Howard's hair. *g*)

And I'm really getting excited about the trip now. A week until I'm in Frankfurt!

Yeah, it could have been worse, it could have been even more TT songs ;) But seriously, Mark has so many good solo songs to choose from that he could easily have filled the show with only his own songs.

I'm not too fond of the big stadiums, I do prefer arenas or smaller venues.

I like Raven more and more and also End of Everything is growing on me. But I really love the whole album and I'm constantly hearing the songs in my head :)

I do wish there were some deeper album cuts from his other solo albums, certainly. The non-singles are generally my favourites. But I'm just happy he's doing Boogie and Four Minute Warning.

My absolute favourite venues these days are the 2,000 seated theatre sort. I'm at the age where I like to sit down when I can. *g*

The whole album really is strong. And I've got a rotating series of the songs inhabiting my head all the time.
