I should be home. Instead, I'm sitting on the floor in LaGuardia airport, waiting for my check in at 4:30 a.m. And debating how much I want to sleep on an airport floor.

I got to JFK today to find my connecting flight to Toronto had been cancelled, along with a bucketload of other flights. And as a bonus, there aren't any hotel rooms left.

I've now been in transit for 20 hours and counting. And assuming I do make it home tomorrow, I somehow have to find the energy to coach a soccer game.

Ah, the things I do for Markie. (For the record, the concert was still totally worth it.)

Ouch! Been there, done that, slept on the carpet. ( At Dulles in Washington) At least you had a fantastic concert to make it worth it. Hope you get home soon ((hugs))

I managed to snag a chair, but I don't know if that's better or worse than the carpet. Two more hours 'til the check in check in counter opens, so not too long now.

Uh-oh... :-(

If you have a responsible (read: European) airline, they're supposed to put you up, no?

I think you should write Concert Dude and just tell him! (Not to get on his case; just to mention.) He might write back...

And there's new Pros Legos! You should check that out. :D

Apparently North American Airlines no longer have to put you up if the flight is cancelled due to weather. Which is rubbish, but there's no arguing with them. Ah we'll, not too long now.

I may just have to tweet Markie. ;-)

Shall check out the Pros when I'm on an actual computer.

Aww no, that sounds really awful! I hope you're not still waiting and got home okay *hugs*

Two hours until the check in counter opens. But it' a small price to pay for a Markie show. ;-)

Eeeek! Does not sound fun. That must have been a heck of a concert to be totally worth it (but then that doesn't surprise me! *g* *pats Markie*) Can't wait to hear about it and I really hope you've made it home OK and didn't get too cold/squashed on the floor... *gentle hugs* ♥

The trip may have been, ahem, challenging, but the concert really was fan-fucking-tastic, and totally worth it. Mark may not have the raw charisma of Robbie (really, who does?) but he was really firing on all cylinders and having a blast and put in a tremendous performance.

And now I'm home, and survived a night in LaGuardia (which was cold-ish on the floor, and squished when I finally scored a chair).

Robbie is a special case (heh, in so many ways) but yeah, I've spoken before about how he really does have that thing that one used to be able to call 'the x factor' before Simon Cowell ruined the phrase forever! But Mark on all cylinders sounds fab - looking forward to your report when you've got time/energy (and given 'night in LaGuardia', sounds like you need some rest!)

Glad you got home OK in the end ♥

Robbie live won over the Sweetie, even though he doesn't care for his music, so yeah, he definitely has that certain something. But Mark certainly did himself proud in Frankfurt.

BTW, meant to mention that I managed to pick up the British GQ with Mr Murray in Charles De Gaulle airport, but haven't read the interview yet. (I tried when I was stuck a LaGuardia, but I was so sleep-deprived by that point I could barely tell if the magazine was in English.)

Yay GQ! I hope you enjoy it *g* He is really a fairly straightforward person (not at all a Robbie - Novak is a Robbie) which endears him to me a lot. I get the impression that winning is massively important to him but that being *famous* for winning isn't, or in other words he'd play a less high-profile sport just as happily, providing he was winning *g*

*crosses fingers for Wimbledon*

I'm hoping it'll be inspirational. (I'm casting about for what to write next, so the Jason-Andy story has a certain appeal.)

Straightforward is good. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Wimbledon as well, and hoping I'll be able to watch at least part of a match.

OMG yes please! *g*(btw, your other fic is still waiting on my e-reader I'm afraid, I've been getting to bed too late this week so far - but looking forward to it immensely!)

Men's quarter-finals today! *flaps*

The Jason-Andy story is about 2/3 done. Just so you know. *g*

Shall have to follow the Wimbledon live blog on the Guardian site. And bite my fingernails to the quick.

Home and very, very knackered. And I've somehow got to survive Ros' school play this afternoon, and coaching 14 6-year-olds this evening.

But as I've said in the comments, it was an amazing experience, and the cancelled flight just makes it a better story to tell, right? Right?!

I got home yesterday morning, and was pretty much the walking dead. But a very happy member of the walking dead. (The concert really was worth all the drama. *g*)
