An Awesome Day

Took Ros to the Canadian National Exhibition, a.k.a. The Ex, today. It's the humongous end of summer fair in Toronto. Growing up, the summer vacation thing I most looked forward to was our annual trip to Toronto and a visit to the Ex, so it's a big nostalgia thing for me. And Ros loves it too. (It was just the two of us. The Sweetie isn't really an Ex kind of guy.)

We were there from 10 when it opened until 10 tonight, and Ros managed to do the kids circus workshop they run 5 of the 7 times it was offered. By the last one, at 7:30, the staff all knew her name, and stuff like this happened:


There were also rides, cotton candy (for Ros), midway games (Ros), a waffle ice cream sandwich (for me), churros (also for me), the Flying Wallendas (which I had to talk Ros into missing the 4:30 workshop for, but which she loved), and a ride on the biggest ferris wheel at night to top it all off.

So very tired.

It was fun, and then we collapsed. I let her sleep in today, and did the same myself. Need. More. Sleep.

Her hair is really growing out, though definitely in need of a trim.

Awesome! ANd now it will be her annual "thing to do" as well! So great, spending the whole day together and having adventures!

I never got to do that with my mother. It never would have occurred to her, I'm sure. Roz is a very lucky girl, to have you for a mom!!!

This was our third year doing the Ex, and Ros' second year hitting the circus workshop. It's definitely our thing now.

My parents always took me to the Ex, but I doubt my mom would have tolerated 5 circus workshops. ;-)

I gotta say, I love the Ex. And yep, that was a lotta circus workshops. I'm just happy Ros loves being active.

I'm hoping there will be catching up of sleep tonight, because I've got Taekwando at 6 tomorrow morning and then we meet our new manager. Aiiieee!

Haven't been in the Pros fandom for a while, but fragments of your "Forget Regret" video suddenly popped into my brain. Luckily I'd saved the password in a private LJ entry, so I downloaded it and watched it over and over again. It was so good, sigh. A big thank you, again!

And it's wonderful to see an adventurous Ros. May she grow up strong and talented like her mom!

A few years ago i attended circus school for a few weeks to do wire work, i feel now looking at this pic that what went wrong for me was the obvious lack of the renowned balancing aid that is face paint!

Never underestimate the power of face paint. (Some day I will put together a collage of Ros' face paint looks through the ages.)
