Film Fest Ahoy!

It was film fest ticket selection day for us, and I got every film I was planning on.

The very first day I see Only Lovers Left Alive, starring Tom Hiddleston as a centuries-old rock star vampire and Tilda Swinton as his lover. Since I'm seeing the first screening, I've got my fingers crossed that they both turn up.

In spite of the fact that he's in three films at the fest, I'm not seeing Benedict Cumberbatch in anything. But the very last film I'm seeing, an Irish comedy called The Stag, stars Andrew Scott, Sherlock's Moriarty.

My whole schedule is here. I'm hoping I'll actually keep up with the reviews this year.

But... but... but...NOT seeing Benedict Cumberbatch?
And how did he make it into three films anyway? The Deep South one, I'm guessing, and the Wikileaks one (sorry, names escape me right now) and what's the other?

Yeah, I know, not seeing the Cumberbatch doesn't quite make sense. But all his films are being released, and I usually try and see films that are less likely to come out anywhere. I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled for him on the streets, though. I work in the swanky part of town where actors tend to congregate during the fest.

The three films are The Fifth Estate (the Assange one), August: Osage Country, and 12 Years a Slave.

I've got my fingers crossed for Tom and Tilda doing a Q&A. Because I'm betting they'd both be brilliant at it.
