Hallowe'en

In spite of some rain, it was a good Hallowe'en. Ros went as Violet from The Incredibles. (Not that she's a fan of the movie, but one of her best friends at Taekwando was going as Violet to their Hallowe'en party a couple of weeks ago and they wanted to go in matching costumes.
Here's my little superhero tonight:

Ros and I carved our pumpkin this year.
After looking at a bunch of pics online, Ros decided she wanted a Hello Kitty pumpkin. I drew the pattern, and she carved the pumpkin. Well, all of it except the fiddlier bits.

Date: 2013-11-01 08:12 am (UTC)Jamie went to a local authority 'extravaganza' in the park - combined hallowe'en party, fun fair and early bonfire night with fireworks - the mind boggles and I haven't had a report yet. He was last seen wearing a wonderful sweater that was mostly a character from Monsters Inc, trying to decide which character from Plants v Zombies would be best for the pumpkin. My only contribution to the day was a packet of chocolate spiders and beetles.

Date: 2013-11-02 03:57 am (UTC)BTW, a million apologies for missing your birthday. I was determined to get something up for it, and then I was just still not quite up for being online. (I'm quite ready for this year to be over, TBH. 2014 will, I hope, be less fraught.) I hope you had a good one.

Date: 2013-11-02 11:48 am (UTC)Firework night is always very special, but I rather wish we could copy the French attitude to firework displays and move it to the summer! Yes, I know the date would be wrong in terms of the origins but that's true of a lot of festivals.

Date: 2013-11-02 04:01 am (UTC)There's a ton of kids in our area, and lots of people decorate, so it makes it extra fun now.

Yay for Halloween fun!

Date: 2013-11-02 04:03 am (UTC)I was pleased with how the pumpkin turned out. It was an experiment, letting Ros carve most of it herself, but it worked out!
Yay for Hallowe'en indeed!

Date: 2013-11-02 04:04 am (UTC)And the not-so-scary pumpkin was fun to do. I'm already scheming what we can do next year.
