The remastered Pros is out, and I'm still agonizing about whether to go for the DVD or Blu-Ray set.

Does anyone know if the Blu-Rays really, truly are multi-region? Network's site says they are, but Amazon doesn't, and neither of them provides a helpful picture of the back of the cover where such information might be found.

::sigh::

I cannot make up my mind between the two. To be honest, I haven't been all that impressed with Blu-Ray versions of the movies/shows I have now. I haven't checked to see if my machine is compatible, with my luck it isn't. But...is the difference between the DVD version and the Blu-Ray version really all that great? I can understand for a vidder like you, but... On the other hand, I am highly susceptible to the "ooh, shiny!" syndrome. So...I just don't know.

I have been impressed with the difference between Blu-Ray and DVD, to the point where I'll always go Blu-Ray if it's an option and I don't want to vid the source. (I can rip DVDs for vidding, but not Blu-Rays.) The other issue with the Pros discs, though, is the question of if there was enough information in the original source to give you that much of an improvement with the increased resolution of the B-R format.

For cost, vidding, and the questionable difference in quality, I think I'm leaning slightly towards the DVDs. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one dithering, though.
