It's taken me ages to get around to posting the final day of our Disney trip. But I have a brief moment, so here's how the last day went.
We ended up going back to the Animal Kingdom.
I had planned on going on the Expedition Everest coaster a second time, but when we got to the ride it was stuck for the second time in three days. I decided to take this as a hint from the universe that I was not meant to go on again.
We were meant to be in the park for just a few hours so Ros could go to the Conservation Station where the vets work out of. (At the moment, one of the many things she wants to be is a vet.) We did go there, and watched them do an exam on a vulture. Ros watched the exam for a long time by her standards and was really quiet about it all. She hasn't said anything, but I'm sure she's processing something about the experience that will come out in six months.
After the vets, she decided she wanted to get all of her remaining Wilderness Explorer badges. (The kids can get this Wilderness Explorer passport book that has activities they can do all over the park. They get a badge/sticker for each activity they do.) This meant hitting just about every corner of the park, since we'd already done the badges in the middle on the previous day there. It also meant we had to do the safari again since we hadn't had the passport book the first time and one of the activities involved doing the safari. Which ended up being cool because we saw a few animals we hadn't seen before. First, there was the baby giraffe that came right up to our vehicle.

Then there was the male lion that had been MIA the first time.

And just because I like the pic, here's one of a bird in the aviary part of the park.

After Ros completed her last badge (and got the Senior Wilderness Explorer badge for her trouble) we headed over to Epcot where we had FastPasses for Soarin'. Which was fun and all, but I think Ros probably had more fun climbing in the Monsters Inc. themed playground they had up for the flower show.

After Soarin', and going to a few international pavilions to shop (although I was thwarted in England, where they did not have the Manchester City FC shirt in their window for sale; bastards) we headed back to the resort. We had a nice meal in their New Orleans themed restaurant. (The corn bread was fantastic!) Then went for a horse and carriage ride around the grounds. And finally ended with a late night swim. We didn't get Ros to bed until 11-ish, and then we had to stay up and pack.
We had a blessedly uneventful trip back home.
I'm going to end with a few pics of Ros in the hotel room. Every day the maid would arrange Ros' stuffies collection on the bed in a different way, so we decided to take pics of them all.
Here's Ros with her cousin.

The last day the stuffies colonized both the beds in the room.

And that was it for Disney for probably another two years.
One of the reasons I haven't had time to post until now is that footie season has started up again. Last Wednesday I had to pick up the uniforms for our team, organize the shirts, shorts and socks for all the kids and blow up soccer balls. Thursday I got to stand in a parking lot in the rain and hand out the uniforms to kids and parents. And today was the first game of the season.
We seem to have a good team again this year. (I'm amazed that we didn't get any of the kids from any of our past teams. Though we now know a number of kids on other teams.) The kids all seem pretty nice, including the twins who are pretty much the best players in the league. Though unlike two years ago when they could run circles around all the other players, there are now a number of players who can keep up with them.
With the twins help, we managed to win our first game, 5 - 2. (The better of the twins scored a hat trick.) And after a wet few minutes at the start, it didn't rain for the rest of the evening, so it was all good!
