It's been a mad few days, with a bit of good stuff mixed in with a bit of bad.

The Good
We took Ros to a Saturday afternoon kid's screening of the original Bad News Bears at our favourite local rep house and she enjoyed it. Though, man, there's more tough stuff than even I was expecting, including a coach/father hitting his kid on the field and a tough little kid who uses the N word. Repeatedly. (Yikes!)

At the urging of [livejournal.com profile] franzeska, I've started putting pages up on AO3 for my vids, including non-password protected links. The vids up there so far are:
  • I Would Die for You (I Spy)
  • Forget Regret (Pros)
  • Love's Not a Competition (Pros)
  • Pieces of Heaven (Pros)
  • Halo (Sherlock Holmes, Downey Films)
  • The Patron Saint of Lost Causes (Take That)

This has led to the shocking realization that I made I Would Die for You, my first vid back in 2002! Where has the time gone?

    The Bad
I started my Saturday with a 6:45 a.m. black belt training session at our martial arts school. And promptly started having an anaphylaxis attack after we'd completed the run at the start. Mouth swelling, eyes swelling and, most alarmingly, throat swelling. Which meant taking Benadryl, hightailing it home, waiting to make sure that my throat had stopped swelling, and then letting the drugs knock me out for over four hours. Not the way I'd planned on spending my Saturday morning. And annoyingly, it meant missing the martial arts part of the class that I actually enjoy.

The Sweetie: You know, some people would take this as a sign that they shouldn't be exercising.
Me: But I like exercising! I don't want this to keep happening!

Nor was that the end of it. I woke up both Sunday and Monday with my eyes swollen again, and the Benadryl hangover was giving me a persistent headache that finally tipped into migraine territory today. Joy. Adding to the fun, the cold that's been nipping at my heels finally caught me today, so I bowed to the inevitable and took the day off.

    The Inbetween
Since I was stuck at home anyway, and the headache wasn't quite enough to require a dark, quiet room, I decided to park myself on the couch and mainline six of the Legends episodes I had sitting on the PVR. That was...interesting. I wouldn't call it good, but it's at least amusing seeing what accents The Bean attempts each episode when he's undercover. Worst accent so far: Texan. (Who the hell thought Sean Bean doing a Texan accent was a good idea?) Most amusing: a Liverpool accent that never drifted past the outskirts of Sheffield. Oh Sean, never change.

Eurgh, I'm so sorry the allergies attacked again. I can see how losing time as well as feeling rubbish must be doubly annoying. I hope it's a very very very long time before this strikes again (or, you know, never again). *hugs*

I'm delighted that your vids are up on AO3 - I watch the DVDs SO OFTEN *g* and they inspire me so much and I know others will benefit too. Reminded me to re-watch the TT stuff too. Did you hear the new 'TT3' single preview 'These Days'? I think it sounds really good - a nice blend of Mark and Gary's strengths as song-writers. And the cover art looks brilliant. I do miss Jason and I will miss Jason, but it's so nice to feel the growing hum of excitement of a new TT album hoving into view, with all the associated publicity/TV appearances etc. And although losing Jason is sad, I'm imagining Howard and Gary making a lovely protective snuggly sandwich around Mark pretty much for the whole next year *g* *rubs hands with glee*

Feeling crappy and losing time is definitely rubbish. I'm sure you can sympathize. Equally rubbish is never knowing which time it's all going to kick off. Though at least I'm through being terrified when it does actually happen.

Once I've got time (whenever that is) I do want to get all the vids up on YouTube as well.

I have heard the new TT single! And I do like it quite a bit. (I've ordered the super duper box from Universal, though didn't get in quick enough to get the signed version.) My one complaint is that the effects they've put on the vocals make it more difficult to hear the distinctive character of each of their voices, but otherwise I do think it's a very good song and a good choice for the first single. And after an initial uncertainty, I am very fond of the cover art. I am always going to miss Jason, but having new music, and hopefully a tour!, to look forward to is a good thing. And I shall content myself with the thoughts of a Howard/Mark/Gary sandwich. (I'm going to have to make a TT3 icon, aren't I?) I'm already holding back one last vacation day to use on the day TT tickets go on sale. *g* I'm not going to make the mistake I did with the Cumberbatch Hamlet tickets of thinking "oh, it'll only take an hour or two."

Given that last time TT tickets went on sale they broke the internet and most of Britain's phone service, I think putting aside some time is probably a good thing *g* Although, as Katy and I discovered as we went from 'Oh, we'll go four times' to 'Maybe actually 14 times', getting tickets nearer the date is not actually so hard, because they release more when the size of the stage is sorted out, etc, and so the fiendish rush is not as acute as it seems at the time. I'll still try and get some tickets at the first opportunity, though *g*

HAVE YOU SEEN THE THESE DAYS VIDEO? BECAUSE I THINK THEY HEARD US *g*

(it's up on their website *g*)

I'd heard they've broken the internet when tickets go on sale. I've got my fingers crossed that those in charge of British internet infrastructure plan ahead and get their server load balanced for the day. Since we have to plan ahead for our trip to the UK I can't depend on last minute tickets. Well, I might to grab an extra show or two last minute (shhh, don't tell the Sweetie) but we have to have tickets for at least one show booked ahead, since that's how we're going to plan out the rest of the trip. I am soooooo hoping the tour announcement is soon so we can start figuring out when we're coming over.

YES, I HAVE SEEN THE VIDEO. A BUNCH OF TIMES!!!! THEY MUST HAVE HEARD US, THOUGH THEY GOT THE SANDWICH ORDER WRONG. *G* It is totally adorable. I don't love the song like I do, say Kidz, but it's fun and poppy and probably exactly the sort of song they need to re-start things, post-Jason. And they get bonus points for nearly-naked Howard. ;-) I may have watched the spray tan bit repeatedly, as you do.
