I have actually finished fic! I haven't managed to finish anything since July, and not much before that, so even though this is a short piece, it's a finished short piece.

It's for the Starsky & Hutch Advent Calendar, so it won't be up until some time in December, but IT'S DONE!

Next, I really have to get started on my Yuletide fic. I finally sat down with the Sweetie and watched the source material again (and once the reveal has happened I will definitely be pimping the source because it's fantastic) and I have the vaguest of ideas and one line. But I'm not sure who the line belongs to which, not surprisingly, is a huge problem. But I'm sure it'll start sorting itself out soon. I hope.

In other news, I'd mentioned to the Sweetie that I might try to do a demented crossover of the two fandoms I matched with my recipient on, so he started riffing on the possibilities and came up with a really fun idea. I don't think it's quite substantial enough for the main story, but if I have enough time, I might do it as a treat.

In non-fannish news, I'm going for my next Taekwando belt on Dec. 18, so today I did both the 6 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. classes. The plan is to keep that up every Tuesday for the next month. Both classes are tough in different ways, but I have to say I came out of the second one feeling mostly energetic.

It's a wee bit of fic, but it's a start! (And I would never have got this one done if it hadn't been for your inspiration. ::hugs::)

I am a very busy bee. I'm trying to enforce a reasonable amount of sleep each night, which is proving challenging.

Finished fic! How brilliant. I hope S&H fandom enjoy their treat.

The Yuletide source matieral sounds intriguing. And I can just imagine your sweetie coming up with suggestions now - heh!

Best of luck with the - what do I call it? Grading? Belt? The attempt :) Shall be thinking of you then, and hope to hear good news on the 19th (if it is immediate, anyway).

I'm just happy I've finally managed to finish something, no matter how small.

You shall hear more about the Yuletide source. And ya know, this time the Sweetie's suggestions weren't completely dorky.

Belt tests are called gradings. And by the time you get to that stage, they're a done deal--the real testing is done in class; the grading is merely a demonstration for friends, family and classmates. I've just got to master my self-defence moves ("a 200 pound bloke is sitting on you and choking you; remove him") and review a couple of my previous forms, and I should be good.

Congrats on finishing the story! \o/

Also, good luck with Yuletide. :D

I admire your dedication in taking classes at both ends of your day that way.

At the moment, I feel like I'm going to need a lot of luck with Yuletide. (It has always come together in the end, but there's always that niggling feeling that this is the year I'm going to fail utterly to finish a story.)

Taking the two classes ended up being fun and totally manageable. Two years ago it would have killed me, so clearly progress has been made. Although I was then up wayyyyy too late as my body burned through the endorphins I generated during class. This is why I like the 6 a.m. class; it totally wakes me up.

Yay! You finished a story! \o/\o/ And, hey, we'll be S&H Advent Calendar Sisters! \o/ (Because I finished mine yesterday as well. Whew! Mind you, I also signed up for the Secret Santa. I blame SHareCon, and also the lack of Yuletide fandoms I might write for. *g*)

I can't wait to hear what your source material was, and love the idea of a demented crossover. *g* Good luck with both!

Yay for the Taekwando belt! I am very, very impressed. Go, you!

Yay for being S&H Advent Calendar Sisters! And go you for signing up for the Secret Santa. There was no way I was doing that on top of Yuletide. (I have ambitions to write short Pros and Take That Christmas stories, but those are no doubt delusions.)

I shall effuse about my source material ASAP. (I did so already with a co-worker because he knows nothing of Yuletide. And gratifyingly, he agreed that it is an awesome thing and more people should no about it.)

I'm pleased I've stuck with the TKD. It helps that I love doing it! And I'm rather pleased that doing two classes in a day didn't take me out.

Thanks! It's nice to get writing again. And I'll be happy to get the next belt. (Red! That much closer to black.)

Yay fic! *g*

Wow, that's an intense Taekwando schedule, but sounds like you'll be well prepared. As an encouragement, it seems Take That are going to be on Graham Norton this Friday, which I hope you can watch! *g*

Definitely yay fic! Maybe now I can get back to all those TT WIPs I've got piling up.

The TKD schedule is intense, but manageable. Which is a nice indication of the progress I've made the last few years. The first month of getting back to martial arts training I felt like I'd been beaten with a stick pretty much every day. Apparently I have certain masochistic tendencies when it comes to exercise. *g* In contrast, the Sweetie's mantra when it comes to exercise is "no pain, no pain!"

I heard TT will be on Graham Norton! I'm hoping it'll end up on YouTube, and you've reminded me I need to record Graham Norton on BBC Canada. (They never have info on if they're showing a new episode or an old one, so I'll be recording them all for the near future.)
