Fic Finished!

I have actually finished fic! I haven't managed to finish anything since July, and not much before that, so even though this is a short piece, it's a finished short piece.
It's for the Starsky & Hutch Advent Calendar, so it won't be up until some time in December, but IT'S DONE!
Next, I really have to get started on my Yuletide fic. I finally sat down with the Sweetie and watched the source material again (and once the reveal has happened I will definitely be pimping the source because it's fantastic) and I have the vaguest of ideas and one line. But I'm not sure who the line belongs to which, not surprisingly, is a huge problem. But I'm sure it'll start sorting itself out soon. I hope.
In other news, I'd mentioned to the Sweetie that I might try to do a demented crossover of the two fandoms I matched with my recipient on, so he started riffing on the possibilities and came up with a really fun idea. I don't think it's quite substantial enough for the main story, but if I have enough time, I might do it as a treat.
In non-fannish news, I'm going for my next Taekwando belt on Dec. 18, so today I did both the 6 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. classes. The plan is to keep that up every Tuesday for the next month. Both classes are tough in different ways, but I have to say I came out of the second one feeling mostly energetic.

Date: 2014-11-26 04:25 pm (UTC)I am a very busy bee. I'm trying to enforce a reasonable amount of sleep each night, which is proving challenging.

Date: 2014-11-26 03:28 pm (UTC)The Yuletide source matieral sounds intriguing. And I can just imagine your sweetie coming up with suggestions now - heh!
Best of luck with the - what do I call it? Grading? Belt? The attempt :) Shall be thinking of you then, and hope to hear good news on the 19th (if it is immediate, anyway).

Date: 2014-11-26 04:30 pm (UTC)You shall hear more about the Yuletide source. And ya know, this time the Sweetie's suggestions weren't completely dorky.
Belt tests are called gradings. And by the time you get to that stage, they're a done deal--the real testing is done in class; the grading is merely a demonstration for friends, family and classmates. I've just got to master my self-defence moves ("a 200 pound bloke is sitting on you and choking you; remove him") and review a couple of my previous forms, and I should be good.

Also, good luck with Yuletide. :D
I admire your dedication in taking classes at both ends of your day that way.

Date: 2014-11-26 05:06 pm (UTC)Taking the two classes ended up being fun and totally manageable. Two years ago it would have killed me, so clearly progress has been made. Although I was then up wayyyyy too late as my body burned through the endorphins I generated during class. This is why I like the 6 a.m. class; it totally wakes me up.

Yay for the Taekwando belt! I am very, very impressed. Go, you!

Date: 2014-11-26 07:35 pm (UTC)I shall effuse about my source material ASAP. (I did so already with a co-worker because he knows nothing of Yuletide. And gratifyingly, he agreed that it is an awesome thing and more people should no about it.)
I'm pleased I've stuck with the TKD. It helps that I love doing it! And I'm rather pleased that doing two classes in a day didn't take me out.

Date: 2014-11-27 02:15 pm (UTC)Wow, that's an intense Taekwando schedule, but sounds like you'll be well prepared. As an encouragement, it seems Take That are going to be on Graham Norton this Friday, which I hope you can watch! *g*

Date: 2014-11-27 03:57 pm (UTC)The TKD schedule is intense, but manageable. Which is a nice indication of the progress I've made the last few years. The first month of getting back to martial arts training I felt like I'd been beaten with a stick pretty much every day. Apparently I have certain masochistic tendencies when it comes to exercise. *g* In contrast, the Sweetie's mantra when it comes to exercise is "no pain, no pain!"
I heard TT will be on Graham Norton! I'm hoping it'll end up on YouTube, and you've reminded me I need to record Graham Norton on BBC Canada. (They never have info on if they're showing a new episode or an old one, so I'll be recording them all for the near future.)
