I've recently finished reading The Prisoner of Azkaban to Ros, so tonight we watched the movie. Just as Harry and Hermione are going to go back in time, Ros asked us to pause so she could take a quick bathroom break. Which gave the Sweetie and I time for this conversation.

Sweetie: ::whispering:: So, is there a lot of Black/Lupin slash?
Me: Oh. Yeah.
Sweetie: I figured. Because OMG, they hug, they make sacrifices for each. Wow.

Hee.

In other news, I've booked our visit to the Harry Potter set tour in June. We will be arriving in England four weeks yesterday, and I can't wait. We're also taking the water taxi to and from the O2 for the Take That concert, which is going to make an already awesome evening just that much more fun.

Back in the day, after the books came out but before the movies feasturing them came out, I was a major fan of what I thought was a "rare pairing" - Black/Lupin.

I can't believe how much there is of that pairing on AO3... Just ahead of the crowd, I guess. :-)

You are obviously prescient, with impeccable taste. If I was going to indulge in Potter fanfic, Black/Lupin would definitely be my pairing of choice.

LOL, your husband is awesome.

And you guys are certainly doing this trip up right! I'm getting kind of jealous, and I have never even *heard* of Take That outside of your LJ.

He's definitely a good 'un. *g*

The trip should be awesome, though definitely too short. (I've got a big chart with all the days laid out, and we've got enough possible activities to fill it twice over. Ah, well, that's not a bad problem to have.)

'Azkaban' is my favourite book and favourite film of the series. Yay adult characters with complex lives! *g* Although back in the day (waaaaay back) I was a Snape/Lupin shipper because I wanted all the redeeming love and snuggles for Snape.

YAY JUNE, YAY YOU IN ENGLAND, YAY TAKE THAT! \o/ So very very exciting *g*

It's my favourite movie, and my favourite book so far. It doesn't hurt that I adore both David Thewlis and Gary Oldman.

YAY ALL 'ROUND!!! So. Very. Excited. (Shall have to plan where we're meeting up. Do you know what seats you have yet? I've got my fingers crossed we're very close. And can convince people to shift so we're adjacent!)

You're taking a cruise ship to England? Wow, you're braver than I am. Of course, all the things you hear happen a tiny fraction of the time, so maybe you're just more level-headed. *g*

But England! I'm so envious. I won't be going over again for another year! Flying, of course.

Oh, no, not a cruise ship. I don't have nearly enough vacation for that; we're flying over. But we are taking a river boat from the London Eye to the O2 for the Take That show. Which should be very cool.

I'm lucky enough to be going over twice this year--I'll be over again in September for Cumberbatch's Hamlet--but it's been about four years since my last visit.

Heh. Your Sweetie has learned much. *g*

Ooh, yay for the trip! That is going to be fun, regardless, but yeah, adding the water taxi is just that extra dollop of frosting. *g* It's going to be great! Is this Ros' first visit to England?

I can only take credit for introducing him to the basic concept of slash. As soon as he found out about it he just ran with the concept. And continues to do so. *g*

I was looking at the O2's site about how to get there, saw the water taxi option, and went "oohhhh!!!!"

It will be Ros' first visit to England. Which may just blow her mind. I've been reading certain lines in the Harry Potter books with an English accent (stuff like "That's all right, then" which just has to be read with an accent *g*) which usually makes her go "Say that again" followed by "How do you even do that?" Heh.

Me, too. *g*

OMG, how is it MW next week already!!!! But also, YAY!

Ah I see your other half can spot the slash potential when he sees it, you have taught him well.

Oh and I meant to tell you my boss went to see Take That tour in Glasgow and raved about it.

I didn't so much teach him as point out slash was a thing and watch him run with it. He's quite frightening sometimes.

As for your boss' concert experience, it's groovy to hear a rave from a non-fannish type about the show. I'm definitely getting more and more excited. (Though also more and more nervous that my tickets haven't shown up yet. C'mon Ticketmaster.)

Sweetie is quite perceptive! The pairing is there, if you look... subtle, but definitely there.

From: [identity profile] przed.livejournal.com
It's sort of subtle, up until the big hug scene. Then, not so much. *g*

Heheh, the Sweetie is a fine and discerning chap, with a keen eye for quality slash, obviously :)

He's definitely fine and discerning, and for once he's landed on the pairing I prefer. (He frequently notices pairings I have absolutely no interest in. *g*)
