I'm about to do something horribly impulsive.

Namely, offering two fandoms for Yuletide where I've seen only limited clips of the source, simply because they star, respectively, Sebastian Stan and Chris Evans.

MCU fandom, you have a lot to answer for.

Yeah, you've got the Seb Stan source in one. (Poor woobie T.J! I've been wanting to watch that for a while.) The Chris Evans one is one of his less-horrible non-Marvel movies. That should narrow it down. ;-)

And I will definitely be watching the sources. They're all easily watchable in a day or three. I would never write fic without watching source. ::shudder::

Ha, you've inspired me. Yesterday The Last Kingdom had 3 requests and no offers and I was thinking I could watch an 8 hour show about the Saxons fairly quickly if necessary, but I notice today it's got an offer and there's still 5 days of sgn ups to go.

I'm debating participating in Yuletide. I have enough fandoms that I could give it a go, although I don't have all the source material for all of them. Hmm.

It's all source I've been meaning to watch, anyway, so it'll just give me a timeline to actually do it.

I highly recommend Yuletide. It's a nice creative kick to see what you can do with your recipient's request. Apart from this year's MCU-inspired insanity, I've always been very strategic about what I offer: movies and very short mini-series that I already know very well and either own or can easily get hold of.

Yuletide is a massive, small fandom, fanfic exchange. You request a story in up to six fandoms, and offer to write a story in up to ten fandoms. You're then given an assignment to write a story for someone who requested a fandom you offered, and someone else is assigned to write a story for you. Stories are posted anonymously on Christmas Day, and the writers are revealed on New Years.

It's kind of crazy, but a lot of fun.
