Christmas and Yuletide are here, and I've gotten a lovely story for the Chris Evans movie, What's Your Number

Confidence Man (6368 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: What's Your Number? (2011)
Rating: Mature
Relationships: Ally Darling/Colin Shea
Characters: Colin Shea, Ally Darling
Additional Tags: Post-Canon
Summary: Colin Shea is a fucking gift. Or: five times Colin reminds Ally how awesome she is just by being himself, and one time Ally reminds Colin that that's exactly what love is.

This story manages to be both funny and sweet and proves just how perfect Colin and Ally are for each other. If you've ever seen the movie, you should totally read this story!

I also wrote a story for this year's SteveBucky Secret Santa. It's a cabin fic! And a sharing a bed fic! And a sharing warmth fic! And it somehow ended up being over 11K words.

A Goddamn Winter Wonderland (11122 words) by PR Zed
Fandom: Captain America (Movies), Captain America - All Media Types
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences

Relationships: James "Bucky" Barnes/Steve Rogers
Characters: James "Bucky" Barnes, Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson (Marvel)
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Modern Setting, Alternate Universe - Modern: No Powers, Artist Steve Rogers, Cabin Fic, Snowed In, Sharing a Bed, Sharing Body Heat, Steve Rogers & Sam Wilson Friendship
Summary: Steve really shouldn't have even attempted the drive. Not with a major snowstorm on the way. Not when his thirteen-year-old car had broken down three times this month and his snow tires should have been replaced two years ago. But when he'd moved to Buffalo, he'd promised his mom he'd make it back to New York for Christmas at least.

Driving home for the holidays, Steve runs into a blizzard and another stranded traveller. But what starts off as a good deed could end up being so much more.

Otherwise, Christmas has been pleasantly uneventful. I think I managed to cook my best turkey thus far, the Sweetie got me the gigantic (no, seriously GIGANTIC) Captain America Omnibus of all of Mark Waid's Cap stories, and Ros has been demolishing all of the graphic novels we got here. (Ros hasn't ever been much of a reader, but she's getting into graphic novels, so Yay!)

Hope all of you who celebrate it are having a lovely Christmas, and that the rest of you are having an equally pleasant 25th of December!

ROTHKO = BEST

Also I loved Steve being all mouthy to Bucky and Dum-Dum when they questioned his size. That's our guy!

UCCELLO IS ALSO GREAT and to my shame I do not know who Franz Marc is! I shall have to look him up. Do you like Josef Albers? I had to read Interaction of Color in my very brief stint at boarding school and loved it.

Every time I rewatch Avengers and TFA to some extent I am surprised all over at what a mouthy little shit Steve is. It's toned down SOME in TWS, but not a lot (when he goes "Neighbour" to Sharon). He is so sarky and on the offense! I love it. and then his big giant broken heart, aaaagh

I love the opening of TWS when he's trolling Sam, it's such a great quiet /romcom/ opening for a big Marvel action movie.

OMG, I think I have seen the red and blue horse paintings. Not in proper artistic context, but they look familiar. (I hope I'm not remembering them from calendars or something)

I adore what an absolute mouthy little shit Steve is. "Neighbour," is such a Steve line. And not only is the opening with Sam a great romcom meet cute, but that last scene in the hospital room with the final "On your left," and Sam's awesome half smile is an awesome romcom ending. (If Bucky Barnes hadn't colonized my brain like he has, I'd be all over Steve/Sam.)

IT'S A TOTAL ROMCOM. And I love that it's a romcom with genderfuckery, Nat is the good bro trying to set him up with other people and get over himself, and Sam is the new meet-cute romance, and Sharon is the undercover bodyguard! and Maria is the laconic sardonic sharpshooter. What a film. I totally ship Sam/Bucky/Steve and Bucky/Steve/Nat and Bucky/Steve/Sam/Nat, &c &c., altho Stucky is the pairing that absolutely stole my heart. I MEAN, THE MUSIC SWELLING AND STEVE DROPPING THE SHIELD AND FALLING AND BUCKY DIVING IN TO RESCUE HIM (I always cry buckets at that part. I don't know how many times I've seen it).

Oh yeah, what I remember of Uccello from Art History class -- my favourite was always St George and the Dragon, the one with the kind of black and white squares on the ground and the wild wings. And The Hunt is great.
