End of an Era

A long, long time ago (well at least a few years ago, anyway) I used to make vids. Then came Ros and the parenting thing, and Taekwondo and hockey and life, and it's been over four years now since I've managed a new vid.

Consequently, I've decided to finally close shop on my vidding site at the end of February.

I do have a handful of vids up on YouTube (it's always such a pain, waiting to find if you're going to have to launch a copyright fair use challenge for each new vid, and seeing if this is the vid that YT is going to kill your account over), and I suppose eventually I'll put up more, but for now, this will be the only way to get them.

So, if you've ever wanted to grab a copy of one of my vids, here's the link:

For those new here, there's a lot of Pros, a smattering of LotR, and a bunch of oneshots for various shows and movies ranging from Withnail and I to Spooks to Life on Mars.

The things that happen when I go away for a bit... *g* Thanks for posting about this! I downloaded ones I didn't have. But I am rather hoping that one day, maybe several years from now, you'll find yourself thinking about what you might do with a song and some film... We can always hope! (I totally understand where you're coming from now, though, and why it doesn't make sense to keep the site up and running.)

I may not have made a vid in four years, but I still think about doing them constantly. At this point it's a joint problem of technology and time/energy. My vidding machine died and figuring out all the new gear software and techniques I'd need to start again would be a right pain, and I find that even when I've got the time to sit for a few hours, I don't have the kind of mental energy I used to when I'd vid for 5 or 6 hours at a stretch.

But someday, I do hope I'll get back to it...
