Happy Holidays

We've spent the day shopping for yummy food for the weekend at the St. Lawrence market, and are now well-prepared for a relaxing, non-religious, hedonistic few days off. We've got a nice chicken--turkey is overkill for two--and lovely cheeses and lots of fresh produce. I've even volunteered to make Eggs Benedict for the lad. In university, my roomies found out I could make Hollandaise sauce and requested Eggs Benny pretty much every weekend for years, but I haven't made it for ages, and never for Don. So, he gets a treat. And let's just hope I've still got my touch with the Hollandaise.

Tomorrow, amongst the eating and unwrapping of gifts, we're going to watch The Ref, possibly my all-time favourite Christmas movie. Denis Leary, Kevin Spacey, Judy Davis and a serious amount of sarcasm and snark and foul language. What's not to like? (Take that, you saccharine Christmas specials.)
