Well, I've managed to finish the Sharpe vid, so I will have something to send to Escapade. Even if I can't go myself.
In spite of the crappy composition, lousy lighting and decided lack of usable slash-signifying footage in the Sharpe movies, I'm happy with the end result. Not ecstatic, but content. It's not the best thing I've ever done; there's no over-arching narrative, there's no deep theme, there're fewer effects than I originally intended to use. There's just a celebration of the Sharpe/Harper dynamic and a love poem to the prettiness that is Sean Bean, all done to a song I love. (And many thanks to
morgandawn for helpful beta comments. You always help me focus what my intentions are for a vid.)
The next two vids I've got planned have better shot source material (MI-5/Spooks and Angel), use more complex, fast tempo songs and even have, gasp, themes. I'll be curious to see if I'm any happier with the vids that result.
