High School Meme
Jan. 25th, 2005 11:33 pmEveryone else is doing it, so what the heck.
[What year was it?]
1983/4
[What were your three favorite bands?]
The Police
The Who
Yes
Prog, rock and new wave. I was all over the place then, and I still am now.
[What was your favorite outfit?]
Jean, plaid shirt over my Police concert T and running shoes.
[What was up with your hair?]
Way too long. A year later it was very short and spikey.
[Who were your best friends?]
canadiansuzanne and Dawn.
[What did you do after school?]
Work, read, Diplomacy club (like Risk, but way nastier), badminton team.
[Where did you work?]
Coles Book Store in the Thorncliffe Mall.
[Did you take the bus?]
Yep. Didn't get my license till I was 28.
[Who did you have a crush on?]
The only one I still remember is Truc Truong, a really sweet kid who'd just immigrated from Viet Nam.
[Did you fight with your parents?]
Occasionally. I saved the worst of that till university, though.
[Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?]
Andy Summers and Christopher Walken.
[Did you smoke cigarettes?]
Nope. Ick.
[Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack all day because you were too nervous to find your locker?]
Uh, no. Books heavy. Locker good.
[Did you have a 'clique'?]
Not really. I hung around with a couple of people, and then had friends in all the various cliques. (I knew the drug dealers and the geeks.)
[Did you have "The Max" like Zach Kelly and Slater?]
Not really. But we hung out at the lake a lot.
[Admit it, were you popular?]
No. I was a shy, little mouse.
[Who did you want to be just like?]
Mr. Spock. No, really.
[What did you want to be when you grew up?]
An astronomer. But three years doing astrophysics at the U of Toronto cured me of that.
