Panic and Geekiness
May. 3rd, 2005 06:49 pmWe leave for England in three days, and there is laundry to do, a new car to pick up (I bought a new car! As in, no one else has ever owned it! Dear god, I must be middle-aged.) not to mention vid footage to capture. I'm gradually realizing I was insane for not starting this vid way earlier when I had an abundance of time, but then I always work best with a metaphoric gun to my head. But did I have to start a four-fandom vid this close to MediaWest? And did one of those fandoms have to be one in which I know only the bare minimum of episodes. (The four fandoms are UNCLE, Pros, S&H and Due South, for the curious.)
Okay, enough whining. From

Date: 2005-05-03 04:28 pm (UTC)Nah, it's very exciting. But it's the first time I haven't bought used. I'm both enjoying the experience and freaking out because, wow, cars are expensive.

Date: 2005-05-03 04:40 pm (UTC)I bought my first car in '74 (it was new, too).
At the time, I paid $3,000 for a stick shift, 6cyl. Gremlin (as St-Crispin said, it was all engine and gas tank)...
The last one (got it tonight)? You could almost add a zero at the end :(
But I love the smell of a new car...
