List 10 of your current favourite fictional character pairings (het, slash, canon or otherwise) in no particular order and then tag 4 people to do the same.

2. Napoleon/Illya (Man from U.N.C.L.E.)
3. Aragorn/Boromir (LotR)
4. Sean/Viggo (RPS alert, because you know I'm going to the hot place)
5. Avon/Vila (Blake's 7)
6. Starsky/Hutch (you don't think I'm going to actually list the show, do you?)
7. Jim/Artie (Wild Wild West)
8. Scotty/Kelly (I Spy)
9. Sharpe/Harper (Sharpe!)
10. Jim/Blair (Sentinel)

Hello, I just wanted to drop you a note to say that a friend of mine played the 2005 Escapade songvid DVDs at a party in Perth, Western Australia yesterday and I (and everyone else) really enjoyed your Sharpe vid. I've only seen it the once and am not familiar with the canon, so I can't say anything technical about it — but it was definitely one of our favourites! It brought all conversation to a halt and had everyone crowding around the TV.

Hi. Thanks for letting me know. It's always great to hear when people like the vids. And I find it especially interesting to hear when they've been seen in different parts of the world.

Hope you don't mind if I friend you. I was extremely interested in your discussion of death stories, as I feel almost exactly the same about them. And your list of your favourite books is fascinating. Definitely some things I should read there.

Oh, by all means! Friending you back. Glad you liked the death story post; it's hard to find anyone to enthuse about death stories with.

Now, I've just downloaded The Soldiering Life from your website and watched it again. Thanks for making it available! Love the song, the way you match the song to the clips (especially the troops marching to the word "battlefield") and all the gorgeous, slashy scenes. The one where they're sitting side by side in a stable (? - at about 2:00) hits all my buttons, even though I haven't yet seen any of the show. That situation will be remedied soon! Sean Bean looks wonderful in it. I recognise his sidekick from the pilot ep of Mag 7, my latest fandom obsession.

I looked at the pictures linked in your userinfo and saw your wedding photos. My first thought was "great non-traditional dress" and my second was "Is he really tall or is she really short?" Then I read enough entries to figure out that he is really tall! You make a great-looking couple!

No kidding. I recently got hold of Angel in the Dark, a completely fab Pros zine that is also a very dark death story. I can't convince any of my local Pros pals to read it.

I was interested to see you list Sebastian as one of your favourite writers, since I'm also a fan. (Wonderful Tonight is one of my all-time fave Pros stories.) And I'm very intrigued as to which six sentences are your favourites in Pros. ;)

I can highly recommend the Sharpe series, especially if you like Sean Bean. It was clearly shot on a tiny budget, but Bean is the perfect embodiment of Sharpe. (I'll have to pull out my tape of the Mag 7 pilot again to see where Daragh O'Malley pops up in it.)

As for our wedding pictures, it's a case of both the big guy being very tall (6' 6") and me being very short (4' 11 3/4"). Glad you liked the dress. It was fun to wear, and much better suited to someone my size than a puffy white organza thing.

I never got into collecting zines, so haven't read Angel in the Dark.

The six sentences (actually, it's probably more like 12) are in First Night, Last Night, when Ray realises just how much is between him and Bodie and then compares that bond to his feelings for his soon-to-be-fiancee. I could make quite a list of things I don't like about the story, but I *adore* that part. I've been rereading it for seven or eight years now and the magic hasn't worn off even slightly.

I like Wonderful Tonight, but the ending (Bodie joyously lifting Doyle up in his arms outside) is just a touch too demonstrative or something for me. I haven't read the whole thing for a long time, but several people have mentioned it to me lately, so I must try it again one of these days.

Daragh O'Malley plays the second-in-command of the ex-army troop that threatens/attacks the Seminole village.

I've set the ball rolling to get my hands on Sharpe!

Crikey, I don't think I've read First Night. (I've mostly read Sebastian's stuff in the Oblique zines.) I'm putting this on the list to read this weekend.

I have to admit I'm a sucker for the ending of Wonderful Tonight. The sheer exuberance of it overcomes any objection I might have to it being too open a display. On top of which, Bodie's always got his hands all over Doyle, often in front of other people (Wild Justice, Mixed Doubles), so I don't even see it being that out of character. But I'll admit it won't be everyone's cuppa.

I should have known that Daragh would play one of the baddies in Mag 7.

Oh, you shouldn't miss all the Sebastian stories on the Circuit Archive. Many of them are great!

Re Daragh O'Malley: He's not really a baddie. He stands up to his colonel and is ordered to be executed for his trouble.

::off to rewatch your vid one more time before bed::
