Ya know, maybe I should bitch and moan about not being able to write more often. 'Cause that Boromir gen story I complained wasn't going to happen yesterday? It's at 2,700 words and counting. With luck, I'll finish a first draft of the f*cker tomorrow.

Sweetie update: still feverish, but managed a screening of Les Desmoiselles de Rochefort (Yay, Gene Kelly! Yay, dancing French people!) at Cinematheque tonight. Here's hoping the bloody antibiotics kick in soon.

Also, GIP! 'Cause what else is a gal to do when she's stressed and blocked and spinning her wheels but make Pros icons.

Insanely late. Courtesy of our friend, insomnia.

Boo to our not-so-friendly friend insomnia.

Thanks again for taking a look at the story. And I feel the need to apologize for getting you to read something that needed so much work. (I usually don't show anything to even a beta until I've made a few editing passes on it myself, but I didn't have the luxury of time with this one.) Mea maxima culpa.

I still need to get working on the Pros disks for you, too. I'll try and test and burn at least one disk this weekend.

No apology necessary. And it doesn't need *that* much work. I was just offering some thoughts, which you can take or leave as you wish.

On the Pros disk front--obviously, no rush.

Your thoughts seem right on the money to me. And okay, it's probably not going to take *that* much work. It just feels like it, since I'm working my way into sleep deprivation again. And since I find editing way easier than writing the first draft, it probably won't even be that painful.

I've got a whole set of the Pros disks Justacat kindly provided so that I can copy them for you, but we already found errors on one disk when we tried to play it in London, so I know I'm going to have to make sure they play through all the way before I even burn them. Otherwise you would have had them ages ago. I've got some huge encoding runs to do today (I'm working on some corporate video at home today) so maybe I'll test some eps while files are encoding. Nothing like multi-tasking. And watching B&D is far more interesting than watching a completion thermometer on an editing program.

Now I wonder why that could be?

Funny that, isn't it?

Unfortunately, I spent the afternoon going through a ton of boring footage trying to find the best take and didn't yet hit the encoding part of the job, so no testing Pros disks for me. I think the thermometer might have been more interesting.

But in other news, I ripped apart the story tonight and re-wrote great chunks of it. All it needs is a final, non-sappy paragraph, in Boromir's POV. Thanks again.

Good luck with the rewrite and the thermometer. I'm here if you need me--just ask.
