So, it seems a couple of my stories have been nominated for some awards. Which is nifty. LotR stories, which is even niftier since it's a fandom I still love, even if I haven't exactly been active in it of late.

Anyway, the first one nominated was Chance Encounter, which is up for a Middle Earth Fanfiction Award in the Races: Men: Steward's Family category. See, here's a banner to prove it.

(Okay, I admit it. My primary reason for doing this post is so I can put up this banner. Because my god, how can I not resist angst and Boromir.)

There are a ton of lovely stories nominated, so those who are so inclined should definitely go vote on something.

The second one nominated was Of Memory and Dream, which is up in the Aragorn/Boromir Short Fiction category in the [livejournal.com profile] mome_awards.

The MOME ballot can be found here, and as with the MEFAs, there are a ton of stellar stories to be voted on.

A big thank you to anyone who nominated my stuff, and a big "Wow" to those who run the awards, 'cause I can't even imagine how much work you put into them. I'm hoping I'll have some time to read some new stories, revisit some old favourites and vote a bit myself. (I've definitely been missing Aragorn and Boromir of late, though given recent events I'm not quite sure I'm willing to put myself through Boromir dying again right this moment.)

Woo freakin' hoo!!! First you're getting published. Now you're award nominated. Soon there will be no talking to you. I'll have to courtesy or something if I want to get your attention.

Which, I have to tell you, is hell on my knees. ;-)

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU!!! :-D

I've won a few Fan Qs and Stiffies in my day--that would be the old Slash Talent in Fandom award--but mostly for UNCLE, with WWW and Pros thrown in for variety. It's nice to get a nom in LotR.

I shan't require a curtsy from you. A simple tug on the forelock will do. *g*

You've seen my haircut--what makes you think I have anything long enough to tug on?! ;-)
