A Swordspoint Birthday Drabble
Nov. 11th, 2008 11:53 pmHappy birthday
just_ann_now! Hope you had a great one.
For your enjoyment, a Swordspoint drabble:
Title: The Education of St Vier
Author:
przed
Source: Swordspoint
Pairing: Richard/Alec
Attack. Parry. Riposte. Lunge and disengage and lunge again. Back and forth across the salle, over and over, until each movement is performed without thought, without hesitation. It is the only way to learn the blade.
It is the only way to learn Alec as well. But Alec's weapons are words, not steel, and he wields them so expertly he sometimes leaves Richard breathless. He is the only one who can leave the legendary St Vier that way, gasping and winded and undone, and Richard finds he enjoys it.
Enjoys being undone even more when it is in Alec's bed.

I still haven't been able to get my head around what brought Richard and Alec together, and what (before the incidents of Swordspoint) kept them together, but the question is infinitely delightful to contemplate, isn't it? Thanks for a wonderful birthday gift!

Date: 2008-11-12 06:09 pm (UTC)Mine too! And I think I like the sequel, Privilege of the Sword, even better. (Not as much Alec and Richard in it, but it's very high quality Alec and Ricahrd.)
So glad to hear you think it's IC. I was trying for just the right voice with this one. Kushner's a tough act to follow.
