Adventures in Fannish Parenting

Rosalind loves playing with the rolls from toilet paper. She especially loves putting them on her wrists. Like vambraces. So I started telling her that they were vambraces, determined that she will be the only kid in her preschool class who knows the names of parts of armour.

Tonight, I'm folding laundry and Ros is with the Sweetie getting ready for bed and I hear her shout "Daddy, look at my vambraces!"



I'm so proud.

Next step: teach her about tassets and pauldrons. Not to mention Boromir.

Ah, how sweet. Darn, girl, the kidlet is sprouting! Good work on the fannish upbringing. And you know that naming the parts of a suit of armor could very well be useful one day. She might win a lot of money in a trivia contest. Or become a re-enactor.

She's definitely growing.

I figure at the very least knowing the terms for armour will come in handy in talking about The Lord of the Rings, which her mum will be inflicting on her as soon as she's old enough.
