Ya Win Some, Ya Lose Some
Oct. 8th, 2009 01:56 pmMy shiny, newish Mac Pro is fixed and sitting in our foyer.
Alas, it's going to continue sitting in the foyer until the Sweetie gets home tonight. It weighs a ton, and there's no way I'm going to try and drag it up to our third floor office. I just barely managed to get it down from there by myself.
I don't think I'll even have much time to set it up and make sure it really is happily fixed until Monday night, since I'm off to Stratford for the day tomorrow for more theatre (The Importance of Being Earnest and Cyrano De Bergerac with FJBryan), and then Saturday we're off to my mum's for Thanksgiving weekend.

Date: 2009-10-08 11:36 pm (UTC)You know one of the biggest potential bummers with my whole surgery thing? I have tickets to Cate Blanchett in Streetcar at the Kennedy Center. They're for mid-November.
I have a feeling that timing *sucks*!

Date: 2009-10-09 12:33 am (UTC)The Blanchett ticket situation is a bummer. Perhaps you could have them schedule the surgery late enough that you'll get to go. Of course, that pushes you into Christmas...
I asked to have my surgery delayed, since we had just booked the venue for our wedding two days before I got the call from my doctor. Fortunately it wasn't a problem. Though putting it back to November and having so many complications meant Christmas was pretty quiet that year. (We stayed in Toronto, since there was no way I could travel, cooked a wee chicken and had a wee tree. It was actually kinda nice.)
