Ya Win Some, Ya Lose Some

My shiny, newish Mac Pro is fixed and sitting in our foyer.

Alas, it's going to continue sitting in the foyer until the Sweetie gets home tonight. It weighs a ton, and there's no way I'm going to try and drag it up to our third floor office. I just barely managed to get it down from there by myself.

I don't think I'll even have much time to set it up and make sure it really is happily fixed until Monday night, since I'm off to Stratford for the day tomorrow for more theatre (The Importance of Being Earnest and Cyrano De Bergerac with FJBryan), and then Saturday we're off to my mum's for Thanksgiving weekend.

*nods* When the old iMac started to fail I hauled it in to the Apple store, which is in the middle of a very large mall and of course not anywhere near any of the outside entrances to the mall.

It took Daughter and I both to lug the beast. I realize the stands are that heavy to keep the computer from falling over, but... DAMN.

I started to read this first of all with a big "huh?" on my face as almost everyone I know now has a laptop that they dock to use with a larger monitor/traditional keyboard... Sorry, brain is slow in braining today.

You know one of the biggest potential bummers with my whole surgery thing? I have tickets to Cate Blanchett in Streetcar at the Kennedy Center. They're for mid-November.

I have a feeling that timing *sucks*!
