London Pics
Mar. 6th, 2010 10:04 pmWell, the jetlag is keeping me from doing a proper write-up of my trip to England, but I thought I'd at least put up a few pics from the trip. And trot out the newly created Big Ben icon made especially for this and future posts about English travels.
Me having a G&T at the Scarsdale pub. The drink accompanied a lovely roast lamb lunch. (I'd landed mere hours before this was taken, and am frankly amazed I managed to stay upright for the entire day. But the effort was worth it, since I was firmly on London time by the next day.)

A completely brilliant day in Trafalgar Square: sunny and warm and lovely. The pic was taken from the front entrance of the National Gallery, where I'd been visiting my favourite painting, Paolo Ucello's Battle of San Romano.

I saw Solomon Kane at the Toronto Film Fest this past year, and it's a genius little swashbuckler that deserves to be far more widely seen than it's likely going to. I was heartened to see that it's at least getting a decent release in England.

Me standing on the same paving stones as Bodie did in First Night. (Not my first pilgrimmage to this spot. The pic from my 2006 trip, with comparison screen cap of the episode, is here

And here's my partner in crime, FJBryan, in the same spot.

And finally, here's my most prized booty from the trip: a Stig floatie pen. How awesome is that?!

I'm so glad that you had a good time and you certainly look very happy in the Scarsdale. ♥

Date: 2010-03-07 01:50 pm (UTC)C'mon, how can you not love the Stig floatie pen? (I shan't mention that I also picked up Richard Hammond's third memoir at the airport. Or that I'm already half way through it.)
I had a fab time. Now I'm nice and relaxed and ready to take on the working world once again.
